When first starting into computers and as an accountant, spreadsheets were created to streamline different tasks that we used during the month. Another question asked to computers was “How can I make my users life easier”. It a keystroke could be save, then it was done. Spreadsheets were created that saved countless hours and streamlined many processes. After spreadsheets, programming came along to help with the process.
Another process that came along was the need for networking where the computers would share data. The need to have a server and share data was accomplished.
Computer Support
When individuals need computer support, the call is answered. This support ranges from everyday usage to issues with the computer.
Access Database Programming
Microsoft Access is a database software package that could track any information that you want it to. From time to time, the need to support and create a new process in Access was needed.
Payroll to Active Directory (AD)
When a company has individual being added, there is a process that you first add them to your payroll system, and then notify the IT department that the individual has been hired. There was a program that would look at the payroll system every night to see if an individual was hired or terminated. This program then created the individual in Active Directory or disable the user. This saved the IT department countless hours in maintaining AD.
Developing Websites
Many websites were developed to help in tracking and reporting of data that was captured.
Using computers has gone as far as Europe and all of the United States.
